TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) Seva
April 6, 13, 20, 27, 2018
When on one side people wait eagerly for the weekend to spend their most precious time with their beloved ones, there are these youths who look forward to the weekends to go out and help their fellow brethren who toil under the hot sun just to put some bread on their plates.
This group of selfless Sevaks go out in search of construction sites and labour camps where men work in very hot weather conditions. They are served cool butter-milk and dry ration or snacks. A mere smile on their faces make the youth excited and brings them instant joy. At times, the youth buy vegetables and dry ration in bulk, pack them up to be distributed to the needy and then go out to distribute the same. Their commitment needs no description. Their work speaks for itself.
Super Saturday Seva: April 7, 14, 21, 28, 2018
Saturdays are extremely special for the whole group of youth volunteers, for, they divide themselves into groups of three; each to serve three different construction sites in the region. Close to 600 labourers experience the love of these groups of dedicated youth committed to the cause of spreading joy and happiness around.
Apart from distributing cool buttermilk (laban) packets, either toiletries or biscuit packets or bananas are added to their kits. What the youth and the labourers exchange are not merely tokens of love, but also smiles filled with love and compassion. The guiding force for these youth remains the dictum ‘Vasudaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family)’. After all, when the whole world is one family, there will be nothing but love that exists among various beings.
