May 28, 2020: Relief for Migrant Workers Transiting Jamshedpur

On May 28, 2020, Annapoorna volunteers in Jamshedpur were on ground Zero from 5:30 am at Tata Steel Foundation’s camp on National Highway 33 at Pardih Chowk to help migrant workers transiting Jamshedpur from various places to go to other places in Jharkhand, Bihar, UP, West Bengal and the NE.

504 migrants crossed the camp during the five-hour morning session by various means such as buses, walking, cycles, trucks, tractors, trailers and so on. Annapoorna volunteers worked along with volunteers from Tata Steel and People for Change to hand over hot Upma breakfast and dry ration kit for every member to be used during the journey to the next camp or their homes.

May 11, 2020: Relief Kits for 100 Annapoorna Beneficiary Students’ Families in Jamshedpur

Annapoorna volunteers in Jamshedpur reached out to Annapoorna School students’ families and distributed relief kits to families of 100 students of Annapoorna School Sri Surat Sarvajanik M. E. School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur.

The relief kits contained 1 kg sattu (flour of toasted, ground barley or other gram), 1 kg channa, 250 gms muri (puffed rice), 1 kg gud (jaggery), 1 big Marie biscuit pack, 2 bathing soaps,  2 washing soaps and 1 child-size mask.

May 6, 2020: Food Relief Kits Distributed to 85 Needy Families

Anapoorna volunteers identified 85 needy families and prepared food relief kits for distribution. 54 food relief kits were distributed to the families of children of Nirmal Nagar, Domohani Annapoorna School and 31 food relief kits were distributed to Jyothi Club Balvikas children at Supodera.

Each food relief kit contained 1 kg channa, 1 kg sattu (flour), 5 packs muri, 1 kg gud (jaggery), 1 big Marie biscuit packet, 2 bathing soaps and 2 washing soaps.
